LA 2,000,000 is the Apollo 11 Tranquility Base archaeological site on the Moon as recorded in the State of New Mexico's Archaeological Records Management Section database. It represents the site created by the Apollo astronauts on July 20, 1969, on the Moon, 238,857 miles from Earth, at lunar coordinates 0.67266 degrees North Latitude and 23.47298 degrees East Longitude. The New Mexico Museum of Space History serves as the host for LA 2,000,000 on Earth, and its museum location will be forever linked to the lunar landing site. LA 2,000,000 is part of ARMS, the largest archaeological database in the United States, with more than 150,000 sites in New Mexico. This location marked the first effort to preserve the cultural heritage on the Moon here on Earth.
