William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park, on the west bank of the Sacramento River north of Red Bluff, preserves a restored adobe house and recreated 1850s homestead setting that interprets pioneer life in northern California. Although named for William Brown Ide, a leader of the Bear Flag Revolt and the only president of the short-lived California Republic in 1846, the adobe was actually built in 1852 by early settler A. M. Dibble, and later research found Ide neither owned nor lived there. Preserved through mid-20th-century state efforts and dedicated in 1960, the park now includes a museum, replica outbuildings, river views, and regular interpretive programs.
