The Ogden-Fettie Site, south of Lewistown, Illinois, is a prehistoric Woodland-period mound complex associated with the Havana Hopewell culture and dating from about 100 B.C. to 400 A.D. It contains thirty-five mounds arranged in a crescent-shaped enclosure, with a principal mound near the center rising about 15 feet high. A nearby village area and four smaller mounds create a pentagonal enclosure. While such enclosures were common among the Ohio Hopewell, this is the only known example west of Ohio. Its rare surviving earthwork pattern makes it an important archaeological site in Illinois, recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
