Gene King, born in Wisner, Louisiana, on June 21, 1954, was a lifelong resident of Turkey Creek-Wisner who hosted the Franklin and Delta Country Music Oprys. He traveled the globe as a bandleader with Roy Clark, Michael Landon, George Goober Lindsey, the Hagars, Jody Miller, and many others. A legendary guitarist, singer-songwriter, television and radio personality, producer, and mentor, he was country music.
