Built in 1905, this building changed little from the time it served as a livery stable operated by "Billie" Wilson. It had eight horse stalls on one side, a corner office, storage for carriages and harnesses, and a loft for corn and oats. With the nearby train station bringing arriving travelers, salesmen could rent lodging, horses, and carriages to make business or social calls. The automobile made the stable obsolete, and it later became a place for manufacturing concrete burial vaults. In the mid-1900s it was converted into five apartments and for several years also housed a beauty parlor. In 1985, it became part of the Adkins Complex as an exhibit space, and the hitching stone recalls its earlier use.
