Tims Ford State Park is a 3,546-acre Tennessee state park on the north shore of Tims Ford Lake near Winchester, in the Highland Rim along the north escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau. Opened in 1978 with 478 acres, cabins, campsites, and a visitor center, it expanded in 1997 through a major land purchase from the Tennessee Valley Authority and grew again after 2000 under a reservoir land management plan. Its history is closely tied to Tims Ford Lake, created by a TVA dam on the Elk River completed in 1970. The park also includes The Bear Trace at Tims Ford golf course and extensive recreational facilities and trails.
