Nelson John Dunlap, the last Union Civil War veteran of Ross County, rests here in honored glory. He was born May 30, 1843, died December 9, 1942, and served on the USS Hastings in the Mississippi Squadron of the U.S. Navy. May their deeds and sacrifices be kept ever green in our memory.
