John M. King Log House
History
11
This small one and one-half story log house on Cypress Creek in northwest Travis County may have been built as early as 1859. John M. King bought the property from John Robey in 1879, when there was already a dwelling on it. King, a farmer from Alabama, and his family lived here until 1917. The house was later purchased by legislative lobbyist Jack Dies, who entertained many Texas politicians here.
