Baldwin Locomotive Class S – 10 Engine 1237 was built in 1918 at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is one of five remaining of its class. The Southern Pacific Railroad Co. donated the engine to the City of Salinas in the summer of 1957. The goal is to restore this vintage engine to its original condition, a project expected to take considerable time.
