Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts, was founded in 1949 by businessman and philanthropist Frank Stanley Beveridge on an initial 25-acre tract, and later grew to about 300 acres under the stewardship of his foundation after his death in 1956. A privately owned non-profit park, it blends formal gardens, recreation, and preserved landscape. Its notable features include botanical gardens, an arboretum, woodland trails, a 198-acre wildlife sanctuary along the Little River, Colonial Pond with a covered bridge and working mills, a carillon tower, and an Asian garden with a Japanese tea house. Seasonal programs and conservation efforts have reinforced its role as a valued community amenity.
