Tekoa Mountain is a 1,121-foot rocky height on the eastern edge of the Berkshire plateau in Montgomery and Russell, Massachusetts, overlooking the Westfield River Gorge. Though it looks like a mountain, it is a glacially shaped projection of the plateau, with steep, rugged flanks, broad summit views, and a cliff-lined gorge wall shared with nearby Shatterack Mountain. Its sparse woods and frequent fires support species such as pitch pine, scrub oak, and the declining New England cottontail, making it a high-priority conservation area. Native Americans of the Woronoake tribe lived here, and during the Revolutionary War Richard Falley Jr. operated a secret pro-revolution musket factory nearby while the summit served as a lookout.
