The Oglethorpe Oak was identified as the oak under which General Oglethorpe camped. It was measured in 1895 and recorded as 75 feet high, with a circumference of 360 feet, a trunk 15 feet 6 inches, a longest limb of 61 feet, and an average limb length of 50 feet. It covered 7,600 feet, could shelter 5,065 men, and its age was unknown.
