At the Battle of Lenud's Ferry on May 6, 1780, Tarleton routed Col. A.M. White, who lost two officers and thirty-six men killed and wounded, while seven officers and sixty dragoons were taken; Tarleton lost 2 men. Two boys, Francis Deliesseline and Samuel Dupre, recaptured fourteen of White's horses and delivered them to Maj. Jamison in Georgetown, refusing a reward.
