This deactivated missile is part of the Weapon System 133 Minuteman, type and model LCM 30. It was placed with many others along the northern border of North Dakota during the Cold War in the 1960's to protect against war with Russia. Its specifications are a speed of more than 15,000 miles per hour, or Mach 22 plus; a range of more than 8,000 miles; a length of 55 to 58 feet; a diameter of about 6 feet; a launch weight of 72,000 to 74,000 pounds; a three-stage solid propellant power system; and operational status.
