Fitch Hill
History
Fitch Hill, a mountain near Pierstown in New York’s Central New York region, preserves the name of the Fitch family, among the area’s early settlers. It also holds a place in the religious history of the Town of Otsego. The first Methodist Episcopal Church in the town was organized in 1813, and in 1835 the congregation erected a simple church building on Fitch Hill measuring about 24 by 30 feet.
