The Museum of Osteology in Oklahoma City is a private natural history museum devoted to bones and skeletons, displaying more than 450 animal skeletons while housing about 7,000 additional specimens, the largest privately owned osteological collection in the world. Built from more than 40 years of collecting by Jay Villemarette and opened in 2010, it was created to make osteology accessible to the public and to provide a permanent home for the collection. Its exhibits explore skeletal form and function across all five vertebrate classes, and its notable holdings include a hanging humpback whale skeleton, a Javan rhino, and an extensive cetacean collection.
