The first settlers came to the Bryant area in 1828. The railroad built a depot in 1873, and Bryant Township was created in 1878. In October 1892, a group of 20 citizens petitioned the county judge to incorporate the City of Bryant, which then had a population of two hundred people. One hundred and twenty five years later, the population was nearing eighteen thousand, and Bryant continued to grow as one of the fastest growing cities in Arkansas.
