Olallie State Park lies along the South Fork Snoqualmie River southeast of North Bend and is prized for waterfalls in old-growth forest, especially the 135-foot Twin Falls. Established in 1950 from a 160-acre purchase from Puget Sound Power and Light, it was originally named Twin Falls State Park and took the name Olallie after a 1976 expansion, using the Chinook Jargon word for the berries common there. The park also includes Middle Twin Falls, Upper Twin Falls, Weeks Falls, and Upper Weeks Falls. A concealed run-of-the-river hydroelectric project at Twin Falls and an expanded trail network, including the 2017 Ollalie Trail, add to its importance as both a scenic and active recreation area.
