Zumbrota Covered Bridge, a restored nineteenth-century bridge in Zumbrota, Minnesota, is the state’s last surviving historic covered bridge. Completed in November 1869 after spring flooding destroyed the town’s first bridge, it was built with latticed wooden trusses in a barn-like form, with its covering added in 1871. The bridge served until 1932, then was moved to the fairgrounds, and in 1997 was relocated again to Covered Bridge Park near its original crossing. After part of its roof collapsed on February 24, 2019, following exceptional snowfall, it was restored and remains both a local landmark and a rare example of early Minnesota bridge building.
