Feathercamp
Nature
Feathercamp is a protected wildland in southwestern Virginia within the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, and the broader Mount Rogers Cluster. Valued for its relatively undeveloped character, it has been recognized by The Wilderness Society as a Mountain Treasure worthy of protection from logging and road building. The area is known for its large interior spaces, primitive recreation, and exploratory network of trails, old logging roads, and railroad grades. Its Southern Blue Ridge landscape includes high ridges, old-growth forest, rich mushroom habitat, and two class II wild trout streams, balancing conservation with backcountry and trail-based recreation.
