Perry L. Johnson of Bleckley County, Georgia, born July 21, 1908, and died October 8, 1986, served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WW II and, at age 36, single handedly captured fifteen German soldiers at St. Malo, France, on August 10, 1944. His extraordinary heroism displayed courage in the face of enemy fire, and his conduct was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army.
