Nature
Great Hill in Acton, Massachusetts, is a 358-foot wooded conservation area spanning 192 acres and forming the town’s largest single parcel of protected land. Its trails pass through forest, wetlands, and a few developed recreation spaces, reflecting both natural and community use. The land also preserves signs of long human activity, including a Native American stone mortar and stone walls left by eighteenth-century farmers. Near a small skating pond are picnic facilities, while athletic fields sit beside the South Acton Fire Station. Great Hill also borders the Discovery Museum, which uses the area for educational programs.
