New Carlisle honored those who served their country in World War II by naming local men and women who served, and it identified with a star those who died in the service of their country: William Aiken, Gilbert Beck, Joseph Carr, Frank Davidson, Eugene Kern, Joseph Kuspa, Clem Laskowski, Harold Layman, George Murphy, Frank Porter, Perry Runnels, and Stanley Wichlacz.
