Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve is a 4,471-acre protected landscape on the western slopes of historic Kings Mountain above Half Moon Bay in Woodside, California. Established with a $2 million gift from the Save the Redwoods League, it is part of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. Purisima Creek and its tributaries shape habitats that include tall coast redwoods, coastal scrub, and hardwood forest with tanoak, madrone, and Douglas fir. More than 21 miles of trails support hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding, with the Redwood Trail wheelchair accessible. The preserve is valued for its redwood groves, wildlife habitat, watershed protection, recreation, and broad coastal views.
