Using materials from the surrounding area, James (Jerry) G. Marsh constructed this log building in 1933 and 1934, and it was the first tavern in Benewah County to have a beer license. In 1940, Jerry moved an old dance hall next to the building and remodeled it into a larger tavern. His mother, Lettie, moved into the vacated log building and used it as her home until 1953. Originally located on Marsh Hill along US Highway 95 south of Skyline Drive, the building was moved to its present location as part of a highway improvement project in 2004.
