Alexander Rea and his wife, Nancy Jones Rea, were founders of the Town of Alexander, which was named for the pioneer who made the first land purchase there in 1802, built the first sawmill, served as a member of the Assembly from 1804 to 1807, and was a State Senator from 1808 to 1811.
