Harrison County Historical Museum in Marshall, Texas, preserves and interprets the history of Harrison County through exhibits, archives, and research collections housed in several nearby buildings. Founded in 1964 in the Old Courthouse on Peter Whetstone Square, it presents subjects ranging from Caddo culture to the history of Wiley College. After late-1990s renovations, its main exhibits remained in the 1901 courthouse, while the military exhibition Service & Sacrifice was placed in Memorial City Hall and archives were maintained at the Inez Hatley Hughes Historical Research Center. Its holdings include thousands of artifacts, extensive photographs and documents, and notable items tied to Lady Bird Johnson, Lyndon Johnson, Bill Moyers, and George Foreman.
