The Hoch House was built circa 1876 by Henry and Lena Hoch at Chesterfield Parkway behind the present-day BP gas station in what is now the Walgreen's parking lot. Henry Hoch was a brick maker by trade, and his home is the Village's only brick house. He later ran a general store called the Hoch Mercantile, later known as Rinkel's Market. Letta Hoch was related to Ludwig Mertz of the Mertz log home also located within Faust Historic Village. The house remained in the family until 1985.
