The Alt School House was built by the Evangelical Lutheran Concordia Congregation UAC on Reinke Road in Ellisville, south of Manchester Road. Its first teacher was paid $100 per year, and tuition was 75¢ per month per student. Grades 1 through 8 were taught there, and the schoolhouse later became part of the Rockwood School District. It remained in continuous use until 1951.
