New Museum Los Gatos
Arts & Culture
New Museum Los Gatos, or NUMU, is a public nonprofit art and history museum in downtown Los Gatos, California, that combines local history and visual art in one institution. Evolving from the Museums of Los Gatos, founded in 1965, it reopened under its current name in June 2015 during the Los Gatos Museum Association’s fiftieth anniversary. Its home at 106 E. Main Street provides about 6,000 square feet on two gallery floors, roughly tripling its previous exhibition space. With more than 4,000 visitors annually, it presents about 10 rotating exhibitions each year and serves as a community arts and learning center through workshops, youth programs, artist talks, classes, MakerSpace activities, and studio instruction.
