James Wilson Hudson served for twenty-three years as president of Mount Zion College with extraordinary success and distinguished himself in both learning and teaching. Well-versed in letters, skilled in instruction, steadfast in purpose, he was regarded in every aspect of his work as a most excellent educator. Born October 4th, A.D. 1802, and died September 21st, A.D. 1857, he was honored as a man of worth and usefulness, and was remembered by DeKalb Lodge No. 6, I.O. of O.F., and Winnsboro Lodge No. 11, A.
