Neota Wilderness is a protected wilderness area in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, managed by the U.S. Forest Service within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of Roosevelt National Forest along the southern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. Encompassing 9,924 acres, it spans elevations from about 10,000 to 11,896 feet, making it entirely a high-mountain landscape. Even by wilderness standards it remains notably undeveloped, with only 1.5 miles of trail. Its significance lies in its remoteness and limited access, which shape the area more than any extensive network of routes or facilities.
