Colonial Park Arboretum and Gardens is a 144-acre botanical garden and arboretum within Colonial Park in the East Millstone area of Franklin Township, New Jersey, bordering the Delaware and Raritan Canal. Open daily without fee, it features labeled collections of flowering trees, evergreens, shade trees, dwarf conifers, and flowering shrubs, including firs, maples, buckeyes, hollies, pines, oaks, and spruces. Specialized areas include the Perennial Garden, established in 1976, and the Fragrance and Sensory Garden, added in 1981. Its best-known feature, the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden, spans one acre with more than 3,000 roses in 325 varieties.
