On-On-Da-Ga was the site of an Indian village and stockade enclosing about ten acres, with forty additional adjoining acres under cultivation. Located just east of this place, it was burned by the Indians at the time of Frontenac's invasion on August 3, 1696. It was also the site of Father Lamberville's mission, which was burned by the Indians in 1709, and the Indians' removal from here to lower Onondaga was completed in 1720.
