Opened in July 2018, Audi Field became the home of the D.C. United professional soccer team in Buzzard Point of Capitol Riverfront. Built through a public-private partnership between the District Government and D.C. United's ownership, the $350 million, 20,000-seat stadium replaced surface parking lots, Pepco electrical generation equipment, and a number of small-scale industrial buildings. It is already serving as a catalyst for new housing and mixed-use development in Buzzard Point.
