Clinton State Park is a major public recreation area on the north shore of Clinton Lake at the western edge of Lawrence, Kansas. Spanning about 1,500 acres, it offers shoreline access, campgrounds, roads, and an extensive trail network linked to the adjacent 9,200-acre wildlife area. The park and lake are especially known for fishing, including channel catfish, walleye, and crappie, while seasonal birdlife attracts wildlife watchers and photographers. The broader landscape supports hiking, mountain biking, wildflower viewing, nature observation, and cross-country skiing. The park also hosts concerts and special events and has been the annual site of the Ironman Kansas 70.3 triathlon since 2008.
