The monument was erected in 1946 by Trapp-Gehrke Post 292 in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice for their country in World War I and World War II, and in 1986 it was dedicated in honor of all veterans who came to the aid of their country by the Trapp Gehrke American Legion Post No. 292 and Paquette Blackburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7898.
