Arizona Cactus Botanical Garden in Bisbee, Arizona, was a non-profit garden created by David L. Eppele to cultivate representative samples of more than 800 varieties of high-desert xerophyte plant life. It specialized in cactus and succulents from the high deserts of the Americas, all grown as cold-hardy specimens without supplemental water. Shade frames and greenhouses held hundreds of plants under study for hardiness and possible landscape use in the high deserts of the American Southwest. The garden also maintained a library of more than 2,000 volumes. It has been closed since Eppele's death on 19 May 2005.
