The Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire, grew from a bequest by former governor Moody Currier and Hannah Slade Currier into one of the state's leading cultural institutions. Opened in 1929 as the Currier Gallery of Art, it developed major collections in European and American painting, decorative arts, photography, and sculpture, with works linked to artists including Picasso, Monet, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Andrew Wyeth. Its history includes expansions, renovation, and a name change in 2002. Especially distinctive is its operation of two Frank Lloyd Wright house museums in Manchester, including the Zimmerman House and the rare Kalil House.
