Stevens Arch is a large natural arch in Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument in southern Utah, in Escalante Canyon near the meeting of Stevens Canyon and the Escalante River just upstream from Coyote Gulch. Formed in Navajo Sandstone, it stands above the river in one of the monument’s remote canyon settings. Its 220-foot span ranks fourteenth among the longest natural arch spans in the United States in measurements compiled by the Natural Arch and Bridge Society. Although substantial in size, it is not easily reached, typically requiring an 8-mile round-trip hike with about 1,500 feet of elevation gain.
