William Price, born about 1770 in South Carolina and died in June 1837, and Elizabeth Moak Price, born about 1780 in South Carolina and died in July 1837, established a family homesite here. Their children were Susan, 1800–1885; Martha, 1802–1893; Henry M, 1804–1880; William A, 1805–1857; Esther, 1807–1832; Lenorah, 1809; Mary, 1814–1831; Nathan E, 1815–1864; and Elizabeth, about 1817. William Price received a 320-acre land grant on the Amite River on 14 July 1807, and this location, with the family cemetery, on 5 January 1818 in Section 4, Township 5, Range 8 East, Northwest one-quarter, Lincoln County, Mississippi.
