Zion Hill Baptist Church is the second oldest Missionary Baptist church in the county. It was organized by C. S. Fritts, J. M. Lumpkin, Dennis O'Brian, Sarah Fritts, Jane O'Brian, Sarah Lumpkin, Stacy Martin and Mary E. Hardin on August 2, 1873, at Zion Hill Cemetery, one-half mile west, where the first frame building was erected. In 1875, delegates from the area's various Baptist churches met there to form the county's first Baptist Association. The church moved to this site in 1912.
