On July 22, 1913, a fire at the Binghamton Clothing Company claimed the lives of workers including Nellie Theresa Connor, Sarah Doran, Emma D. Houghtaling, Emma G. Reid, Stella M. Clark, Ruth A. Button, Margaret Dimon, Martha D. Burdick, Lena Marie Kennedy, Lou C. Shove, Ella M. White, Catherine Crowe, Mary Josephine Creegan, Nellie F. Gleason, Mary T. Smith, Lizzie Risley, Mary Bianca, Mellie Kison, Ida C. Golden, and Edith M. Chernoff; twenty-one unidentified victims were also buried here.
