Fort McIntosh stood on the north side of the Ohio River as the first United States military fort. Its site was marked in connection with the years 1778 and 1916, and the commemoration was erected by the Fort McIntosh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, of Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
