Veterans Memorial Community Regional Park is a 97-acre county park in Sylmar, Los Angeles, on the northeastern edge of the San Fernando Valley against the San Gabriel Mountains. It serves as both a recreational space and a memorial landscape, with picnic areas, a pavilion, camping, a recreation building, and an 18-hole disc golf course, while also providing access to nearby mountain trails and Angeles National Forest. The site was formerly the San Fernando Veterans Administration Hospital, built in the 1940s, then heavily damaged in the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake. Transferred to Los Angeles County in 1972, it was demolished and rededicated as a park in 1979. Later fires, especially the Sayre Fire in 2008, caused major damage.
