The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden, Colorado is an independent nonprofit devoted to preserving and interpreting quilts as both useful objects and works of art. Its collection includes more than 800 quilts from the early 1800s to contemporary pieces and grew from founder Eugenia Mitchell’s original gift of 101 works. The museum presents four major exhibitions each year, along with smaller displays, traveling shows, and artist-focused exhibitions. Its Sandra Dallas Library holds more than 7,500 resources on quilt history and techniques. The museum also offers educational programs and remains a specialized center for quilt study and display, supported by staff, volunteers, and board leadership.
