Glory of the Morning, Ho-Po-Ko-E-Kaw, was a Winnebago chief who lived from 1710 to 1789 and peacefully led her tribe for more than 50 years with a legendary commitment to its welfare and development. She was known for her open and warm welcome to all visitors while fiercely protecting Winnebago land, culture, and heritage. Her village was built here in Neenah on an island in the Fox River.
