Doane Rock in Eastham, Massachusetts, is the largest exposed boulder on Cape Cod, standing about 18 feet above ground with an estimated 12 more feet below the surface. This glacial erratic was left by the Laurentide Ice Sheet sometime between about 18,000 and 12,000 years ago, making it a visible reminder of the glacial forces that shaped Cape Cod. Located on Cape Cod National Seashore land between what are now Salt Pond Visitor Center and Coast Guard Beach, it takes its current name from Deacon John Doane, though it has also been called Enochs or Enos Rock and Great Rock.
