Before 1750, the Old Meeting House was built two hundred yards west of this spot to serve the Scottish Presbyterians of the District of Darien. A landmark in Colonial days, it remained in use until after the Revolutionary War as both a church and a meeting place for the citizens of St. Andrew`s Parish on important occasions. Here, on January 12, 1775, the Darien Committee chose delegates to the Provincial Congress at Savannah and adopted the six Resolutions that are treasured Revolutionary documents.
