Raleigh Mound in Fredericktown, Ohio, is a Native American earthwork associated with the Adena culture and valued as an important archaeological site. Built thousands of years ago, it rises about 20 feet high, though erosion and its position atop a small hill make its full shape difficult to measure; its diameter is estimated at 80 to 90 feet. An excavation at an uncertain date uncovered an expanded-center bar gorget linked to Adena sites. The mound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and its significance is heightened by its proximity to the nearby Stackhouse Mound and Works, which may help illuminate the broader Adena landscape.
